St Joseph's & St Gregory's
Catholic Primary School

Dear Parents/carers,

As your child is in Reception they are now entitled to return to school. You have previously received information about this and been directed to our Infection Control Policy on the school website. Now we would like to share the details of how the return to school will work.

If you wish to send your child to school, we must receive an email or phone call 48 hours before you wish them to start, so we can organise the correct number of staff. If we do not hear from you, we will assume you do not want their place at this time. If you change your mind in the coming weeks, please email or telephone the school, again with 48 hours’ notice, so we can be properly prepared.

Your child can return to school from Monday 8th June 2020. During the first week of the return to school, we are offering Reception children half day sessions. Their school day will start and finish at the allocated times shown below. This will then increase to full day sessions from Monday 15th June 2020. The times for this are also shown below. Please bring your child to the Reception area gate on the Lower Primary Site, at the times shown. Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before they are due to start. There will be staff present to direct you to the playground, where you will help your child wash their hands. Then staff will direct you to the door your child will enter the building through. At the end of the day please collect your child in the same way they arrived at school.

Your child will be provided with a school meal every day, including their half day sessions. Lunch times will be supervised, children will be able to eat outside if the weather permits, otherwise the children will eat inside, in a safe and controlled way. Children should wear summer school uniform, please see the school website for information on this. Please bring your child’s P.E kit to school on their first day of return. There is no need to bring school bags or reading books at this stage. Drinking water will also be provided.

If you have any further queries, please make contact via email or telephone and we will try our best to respond as soon as is possible.
