Christmas Charities

13th December 2019

Dear Parents/Carers

This Christmas we will be supporting four local charities. Attached to this letter is a gift tag.

Below is a list of year groups and charities, and the types of items they would like; all items need to be new please. Please do not wrap the item. Attach the tag to the gift and send it into school as soon as possible.

Year R & 1 – Keech Cottage Children’s Hospice provides palliative care for seriously ill children and support for parents and their families in this difficult situation. The Hospice needs donations of Art & Craft materials e.g. pencils, crayons, pens, glue, colouring books, tissue paper, crepe paper, sequins, ribbons, etc.

Year 2 - Riverbank Children’s Ward, Bedford Hospital – some children are in hospital for a long time. In addition to medical attention, they need things to keep them occupied and the ward is very short of suitable items. The ward needs for younger children: colouring books, crayons, pens, pencils. For the older children: soap, mini toiletries, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes.

Year 3 - Sue Ryder Care, St. John’s Hospice, Moggerhanger – provides a wonderful service to so many families in so many different ways, and always needs extra items to make it the best experience possible. They would be very grateful for small bottles of toiletries for men and women including hand cream, soap, shampoo, bubble bath, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes.

Year 4, 5 & 6 - SMART Prebend Centre – provides support and help for some of the most vulnerable people in the community, taking a holistic approach to aid individuals to reintegrate into society. They need clothing for men: socks, gloves and hats. Toiletries, including soap, shampoo, shower gel, deodorant, shaving foam.
Thank you for your continued support and generosity to those in need at Christmas.
