Miss Sumpter has left for her adventure on the Clipper race today. The school choir sang in this morning's assembly to mark her going off to join the next leg of the race on the Qingdao boat. The hall had been decorated with an actual sail and she came clothed in her official Clipper gear and looked quite the adventurer! The children had made hats to wear and be a part of her ocean-faring assembly crew and Box End Park Watersports had kindly lent us some life jackets to add to the occasion. Miss Sumpter showed the children how we will be able to watch a live link to see the Qingdao's progress on the internet and she read 'Where The Ocean Meets The Sky' by Eric & Terry Fan.

Everyone sang 'We are Sailing' by Rod Stewart and it was very moving as adults and children prayed that Miss Sumpter has a safe time on her ocean adventure.
