We have received updated guidance from the government regarding the Coronavirus: COVID-19: guidance for educational settings.
The guidance has been extended to include Italy and self-isolation requirements for certain parts of Northern Italy.
The following restrictions apply:
Travellers who have recently returned from Northern Italy Category 1 areas (see map), since 19th February 2020 should self-isolate and call NHS 111 to inform of their recent travel, even if they are not showing symptoms. The areas shown in the image below are the Italian towns under containment measures.
Travellers who have visited other parts of Northern Italy, which are category 2 (see map), do not need to take action, unless they develop symptoms. At this point they should self-isolate and call NHS 111.
There are no restrictions for people returning from Southern Italy at this time.
The full list of Category 1 areas (where people need to self-isolate) are:
Wuhan City and Hubei Province
Cambodia
Iran
China
Daegu and Cheongdo
Hong Kong
Any Italian town under containment measures

As a school we are requesting that any child who has returned from a Category 1 area, as shown above, remain off school for the full isolation period of two weeks. You will need to inform the office of this, so the register can be marked accordingly.
We are also following the government guidance as above to ensure general hygiene principles are followed within school.
