Today is All Souls Day. This is a holy day set aside for remembering, praying for and honouring the dead. All of us know someone in our family and friendship circle who has died. Several members of our school community, this year, have experienced the loss of close loved ones - we continue to remember them very especially in our prayers.
A remembrance book will be provided for each year group bubble, with slips for the children to write down the names of people that they would like to be remembered throughout November.
A traditional Catholic prayer for November is:
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace.
Today's assembly was led by Year 6 members of the Junior Chaplaincy Team.
