Academic Standards

Early Years Foundation Stage

70% of children achieved the measure of a ‘Good Level of Development’ (GLD) which includes English and Maths.  The national average was 73% and Bedford Borough’s average was 70%

This year (2019-2020) our EYFS children are part of the National Reception Baseline Assessment Pilot, this enables us to really understand the level at which children enter our school and therefore give them the best opportunity as they begin their schooling with us.

The 2019 results are an excellent outcome for our children, who entered our school with a lower level of phonic knowledge than previous cohorts due to the increasing numbers of children learning with English as an additional language.

Year Four

In June 2019 our school took part in the national pilot study for The Multiplication Tables Check.  No national data is published from this check, however we as a school feel the benefits of taking part.  Our children were confident in completing the test and our teachers are fully aware of how to ensure children meet their potential and the required standards.

The data shown above is not the published data, however the DfE deem that children of certain circumstances be removed from the data set, therefore all the children who joined our school with no English between September 2017 and May 2019 have been taken out of the data and we wait for the DfE to confirm their removal in December 2019.
