St Joseph's & St Gregory's
Catholic Primary School

New uniform can also be purchased from Josen's in Bedford town centre.
Uniform queries can be dealt with at the Lower Primary Site.

Parents are asked to ensure that all items are labelled clearly with their child’s name.

We believe that a school uniform is important:
  • It looks smart
  • Wears well
  • Contributes to a sense of belonging and community
  • Gives a common purpose
  • Makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance
  • Fosters a feeling of pride
  • Is designed with health and safety in mind
We ask that all children wear the uniform and encourage them to maintain a good standard of clean and tidy dress in school. The uniform is designed to be practical, maintainable and good value for money.
Hair accessories such as slides, ribbons bobbles, etc, should be fairly simple and if possible in school colours.
For safety reasons we ask that the children do not wear jewellery in school.
For health reasons it is important that children are properly dressed for physical activity. PE kit should be kept in a named drawstring bag.

Please ask your child to look through any lost property we have.  This is in the classroom/year group areas.

Please return anything that does not belong to your child, as another child may have lost it.

Summer Uniform

Boys may wear smart grey shorts and a green polo shirt whilst girls may wear a green and white gingham summer dress

Year 1 - Year 6

Boys may wear smart grey shorts and a short sleeve white shirt whilst girls may wear a green and white gingham summer dress.

All children must wear sensible black shoes NOT sandals which do not protect the feet.

Winter PE Uniform

Your child needs to have a plain tracksuit in either black, dark blue or grey to wear during PE lessons. This will mean that they do not get cold when they are doing sports outside. Children without a spare sweatshirt will wear their school jumper.
Your child should already have a t-shirt, a pair of shorts and trainers or plimsolls in school. Please make sure all items of PE kit are clearly named. PE kit should be kept in school on your child’s peg at all times.
Tracksuits can be purchased from local supermarkets at affordable prices.

We are delighted to let you know that we have launched our online pre-loved uniform shop.  You can find all the details here:

We welcome any donations of uniform that your child may have outgrown that is in good condition.   This will help us raise vital funds to buy extras for all the children in school - such as Christmas gifts, ice creams on special occasions, etc.  All the monies raised from this are guaranteed to be spent on extras for the children.

If you have any good quality uniform that is no longer useful in your family please hand in to the school office.

Please note the uniform shop is currently just monitored once a week on a Wednesday.  Therefore, if you order on a Thursday or Friday you will have to wait until the following week to receive your items.  Please note payments for this are through the shop online only - we are not able to take cash in school for the pre-loved items.

The shop will be updated weekly as well so if the item you want is not currently showing please check again each week.  We still have some items to wash, dry, photograph and upload.

Thank you for your support.  If you have any queries about the uniform shop please email
