SEMH Vision Statement

‘God has chosen you and made you his holy people. He loves you. So always do these things: show mercy to others, be kind, humble, gentle and patient.’ Colossians 3:12

The emotional health and wellbeing of all members of St. Joseph’s and St. Gregory’s Catholic Primary School (including staff, students and parents) is fundamental to our philosophy and ethos of valuing everyone, caring for each other and achieving excellence. At St. Joseph’s and St. Gregory’s we work together as a school community, staff, students and parents to ensure that we all feel safe, able to learn and included as valued members of the community. Thus enabling us to maximise opportunities and achievements for all.

Please look through the following sections to find information and links that may be useful to staff, children and parents.

Wellbeing

“A state of wellbeing in which the individual realises his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.” WHO 2004

Bereavement

“When I say manage emotions, I only mean the really distressing, incapacitating emotions. Feeling emotions is what makes life rich. You need your passions”. (Daniel Goleman)
